New Visualiser Tool unveiled at ALE 11

Vehnet will be unveiling innovative new software at the forthcoming Automotive Logistics Europe (ALE) 2011 conference, held in Bonn 1-3 March.
Building on the success of their free to download and use software tool, AYDO (Advance Yard Design Optimiser), which was launched at the ALE event last year, Silver Sponsors Vehnet will be demonstrating their new Advance Yard Visualiser, which has been designed to create a high quality, dynamic visual representation of yard information from an existing non visual data source.
According to Managing Director Steve Jones, the instant visualisation of a yard from ‘green screen’ or non-graphical information enables users to see ‘at a glance’ operational status in real time and to true scale, which in turn fosters quicker and better management decision making.

“Essentially, the Advance Yard Visualiser provides clear, colour coded images of single or multiple yard operations, conveying complex information in a more immediately understandable form,” he said.

“It is generally acknowledged that a ‘picture’ is much easier for us to understand than a table or textual list of information, and this new Visualiser tool has been developed on that principle. It is incredibly easy to implement, once the yard or yards have been drawn using AYDO, it simply links into to the current data systems, extracting the data it needs and translating it into images. All that is needed is a unique item identity, such as a VIN number, and a yard location. Any other data required can be defined and added by the user – for example, ‘status’, ‘delivery destination’ or ‘number of days in storage’ – and the Advance Yard Visualiser will automatically display it at the touch of a button!”

Adopting the theme of ‘global transparency’, Vehnet will also be demonstrating the latest developments in its suite of environmental carbon management systems, designed to provide global visibility of automotive supply chains across Europe and the US, and detailed evaluation on the basis of carbon efficiency.
